TEXEL
In computer graphics, a Texel is the smallest unit of a texture, a repetitive pattern applied on surfaces. TEXEL was an in-situ installation shown at Sattelkammer in Bern, CH. The project is the result of a research on writing systems and information storage. How is information flowing from the digital realm to an engraved surface, almost readable. Glimpses of sentences can be inferred sometimes, sometimes not. Layers of meaning and timescales overlap, in this massive mural, fruit of an ad-hoc robotic foam engraving system developed by AATB in collaboration with Lucas Uhlmann.
